If you’ve seen xBloom reviews or videos online, you might be familiar with xPods, xBloom’s single-serve, pre-loaded pour-over pods available in select international markets.
Please note: xPods are not currently distributed or sold in Australia.
Instead, xBloom Australia is built entirely around an open-bean workflow - designed specifically to complement Australia’s world-renowned specialty coffee culture. Rather than locking you into pre-packaged pods, xBloom empowers you to use fresh whole beans from your favourite local roasters.
Unlimited Bean Choice & Roaster Recipes - Brew Coffee from Any Roaster
Many of our Australian Roasting Partners are jumping on board to create dedicated xBloom brewing recipes tailored specifically to their coffee beans. This means that the roasters calibrate every detail - including precise grind size, water temperature, flow rate, and pour patterns - to ensure you extract the exact flavour profile they intended.
You don't need a single-use pod to get an exceptional cup of coffee! The xBloom system is open and fully flexible:

Use Your Favourite Beans: Whether you buy from a renown, top Australian roaster or your local neighbourhood café, xBloom accepts any whole coffee beans.

Bring the Roaster's Recipe Home: Want to replicate how the café brews it but can't find the recipe anywhere? Simply ask your favourite roaster or barista for their recommended pour-over recipe (grind size, water temperature, coffee-to-water ratio, and pour schedule).

What are xPods and what was the tech behind the xPod?
For those curious about the original pod design, the xPod was created as an all-in-one capsule and flat-bottom dripper. Built from 100% compostable sugarcane fibre and equipped with an embedded RFID tag, it carried a pre-programmed brewing recipe on the pod itself.
While the physical pods aren't sold locally, the smart recipe capability lives on inside the xBloom app, allowing Australian coffee lovers to program, fine-tune, and store their own recipes for any bean on the market.
